Qube Cinema systems and solutions have been chosen by E-City Digital Cinemas for their 500 screen digital cinema roll out, in India, over the next 2 years. E-City Digital Cinemas is a part of E-City Ventures - the corporate brand that represents the interests in out-of-home entertainment of the $5 billion Essel Group.

In a significant move, E-City Digital Cinemas has acquired a majority stake in a leading exhibiting chain in Western India which controls and manages around 90 screens in the region. This will help E-City achieve faster roll out in this key market.

The first phase covering 50+ screens commenced in Jan 2006 and screening of feature films has already commenced in the screens where systems have been installed. Real Image Media Technologies, India, the parent company for Qube Cinema Inc. in India, will install Qube Cinema servers in all selected locations and will also provide operational training and technical support.
