Congratulations Senthil Kumar, Co-Founder, Qube Cinema, on being invited to be a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Every year, the Academy members nominate and vote for the Oscar Awards which are given in different categories. Senthil Kumar has been selected under the 'Members-At-Large' category, in recognition of his contribution to the Indian cinema industry.
The Academy has been looking to increase diversity. According to Variety magazine, "If all 819 invitees accept their invitations (which would bring its total membership to 9,412), 45% of the new members will be women and 36% are from underrepresented ethnic/racial communities. International make-up is 49% from 68 countries."
